Hi
I am trying to use CAN module for microchip dsPIC30F series (6011/6010/6014 etc.) but project wizard does not show any option for configuring CAN module like it does for UART, I2C, SPI etc.
Also no header file is shown in the list of header files to be selected.
Anything wrong or any workaround? or just force the include file and then call library functions? (not sure about library functions either)
I am using PCWHD 4.110

Thanks.

Version 4.128 is the same, no CAN configuration for dsPIC.

I would configure a project for another PIC, like 18F458, just to get the basic setup. A quick glance at the library files shows that the 18 and dsPIC CAN libraries at least have similar functions. You might get away with pasting the initialization code as-is into a dsPIC project with the include files changes accordingly (can-dspic30.h and .c).

Thanks foxyrick,

I was wondering whether CCS does not support CAN for dspic or it is just a bug. Maybe they have some patch for this..
But anyway thanks again, I will try this..

CCS are a little inconstant in their software. For instance their LCD configuration from the PIC18 project wizard uses the wrong definitions and does not work.

It's probably not a bug as such, just a 'have not got around to implementing the wizard yet'.

4.130 is the latest version, unfortunately we do not have it yet. There is nothing in the change list that is relevant though.

Dunno if it's relevant, but the dsPIC series has been haunted by a really (really!) bad CAN infrastructure that can truly be a pain. I think they sorted it out on the 33E devices IIRC. It could be why CCS doesn't provide support.
