Hello all,

I'm facing a big problem. I have ICD3 device for PIC programmer and debugger. I can program the chip but can't debugged it. Where is the problem I can't understand. So please help me.

Here is my setup:

ICD 3
MPLAB IDE 8.46
HI-TECH C Compiler (Lite) 9.81

Target board: PIC16F1947, plugged on PICDEM LCD 2 Demo board

I'm having lots of problem understanding configuration bits and debugging a target board. What should be the configuration bit settings to debug a firmware on the above platform?

Please note that I can program the target board. When I try to debug it (Run), the following error appears:

ICD3Err0040: The target device is not ready for debugging.
Please check your configuration bit settings and program
the device before proceeding.

All hardware connections are fine (PC - ICD3 - PICDEM LCD 2). The board is powered through ICD 3 having 3.375 V.

How can I debug it? Please help.
 Huh
Best regards,
Ripon.

Error looks like you did not program in debug mode

You have to set the correct 'Build Mode'.
*RELEASE or *DEBUG - DEBUG will add the Extra code needed for debugging

I would work through the demo code
