XOSCOPE Project for Linux.  Works with PC Based soundcards as well as some USB hardware and the Radioshack ProbeScope.

I coudnt get what you refered as "too slow. If you are refering EFY project "PC based oscilloscope, Yes it is slow and is limited to 1Khz bandwidth. But as you expect the design is utilising a PIC 18F2550.
