REQ: M2M module with MMS capability

Hello,

Does anyone know of an M2M module that has MMS (Multimedia Messaging Service) capability?

SIMCOM has announced MMS feature release this year (July 2010) for the SIM900, but I haven't seen any official releases.

The MMS version of SIM900D will be delay, the release date depends on the R&D schedule and maybe it will be release around the end of September.

I got that words from Simcom FAE about two weeks ago.

My search found some module which have native MMS support:
- Sagem Hilo
- Quectel M10
- Iwow TR-800
- Some Wavecom (sierrawireless) module via Open-AT

I plan to try Quectel M10 maybe next month.

Anyway, there is possibilities to send MMS via generic GPRS module but it is too difficult for me and will need a strong processor.

I have been looking for a low-cost device with native MMS supported at the AT command level.

Yes, the GPRS option is an alternative solution, but the extra firmware is unacceptable on my embedded platform.

Been using Telit for a few years but was hoping they would support MMS in the near future, but this look unlikely.

I think manufacturers believe MMS will die and be replaced by email, hence the lack of support.

OK, I'll download the datasheets and see what they have to offer.
