Note	I am a humble student, my areas of interest are electronics vlsi(beginner trying to learn  digital design, and I like it - first I started with VHDL and now I'm trying Verilog)  and uControllers(you can do a lot of things with them, a few projects with LCD(20x2) and temperature sensors, menus, RS232). Right now I'm thinking to make a Do-It-Yourself Watt-meter (something like "Kill a watt", ampere-meter principle), and I don't know how to isolate the HVoltage part from uC, the short gives to little voltage for uC, so I need to amplify it, but how do I separate the HV from LVoltage...
