I hope i don get this wrong, but the firmware is actually included in the meProg sofware. u can get it from h##@://www.melabs.com/support/progsoft.htm. I will try extracting the code. Hope others can help out too.

I would say you should be so lucky if you coulld and it was that simple

may be you could simulate it by just biukding bare minium part and see if you can get it to commicate with it i have imported the hex file and i hink it may be protected bacaasue you cna not make any sense of the code

Haha. i really got myself into hot soup rite now. i was unaware that a bootloader is need. but i've tried checking a few other schematics including the one from mechanique. these few days i've tried many different bootloads but it was no success. is the crystal really 8Mhz? coz from melabs, it claims that the devices can transfer data up to 115200. however, the xtal needs to be atleast 20Mhz. the firmware itself even indicates a RCIO oscillator in use n not HS or XT. How is this possible? im now clueless. another thing that pisses me most is the microcode loader circuit. cant seem to get it to response wit the constructed circuit. even though i followed circuit design n burned the bootfile for the 18f252 chip. any ideas. i've been trying for few days now. sigh....
here i include the bootload file. y don u try it out too.

Now don'y quote me on this

You will not be able to do it has i have got a melabs serial programmer i have tried various ways to load files into anotehr pic and i always get commuication error, the hex file that is loaded into pic is write protected so you can't get the hex file of it,

the Xtal is 8mhz

unless some brain box can look into exe file to see what it sends to programmer then the programmer send the info back, or can crack hex file,

I'm not that good

so it's over to someone else

:p  there's something that i dont understand,in microengineering, they are selling the serial programmer. for 79.95, Its for the Serial Programmer ICSP board only. does this refer to assembled o just the bare board. what do they mean when they say includes software and documentation? excluding firmware n bootload?

hi adrian

so that melabs per burner gets € 80 and no-one can clone it.

ICSP is not only, with supplement boards one can 8-40  Pin DIL burn

Hi adrian

I believe meloader and mcloader are identical.

mcloader > proton+compiler and microcode studio of melabs

meloader > picbasic pro compiler and microcode studio of melabs

to the firmware once again:

I, this think if I  look at the asm listing only one shares the code is completed.

jumps the first goto this  one as is well known  does nothing for the NOP order, or  what?

i don know how to view or convert the hex files to asm. apart from that, i've contact microeng. they cleared out to me saying that the pic holds more than just a bootloader n a firmware. the bootloader play more part. they oso claims that the 252 can oso be bought uploaded. no other ways. sigh...
