I measured between the middle pin and ground pin of my cell phone's battery (SE K810i,Li-Po 3.6V 960mAh). It's about 120K Ohm. Don't know it is normal or not Sad
So, if this pin is the internal thermistor pin. I can connect it directly to BQ24070's thermistor pin, doesn't it?

You soldered with battery's pins without problem ? Ok, I will do like that. I was afraid of damaging the battery by this way Sad. I think I will solder these pins to some wires and use glue gun to cover them.

Hi Blacknight72, how is the project going?

I found that the Sagem AT commands for sending email are not applicable for Simcom modem, do you know how?

I am waiting for bq24070 and SHT75 (from Singapore). In addition, I am waiting for my boss's final decision about the microcontroller and GSM modem.
SIM has just released new GSM product, SIM900. This new product is said to be faster and better in saving power. So I intend to use it as a replacement for SIM300.

I haven't tried to send an email using SIM300 yet but it seems does not support email function. I will try asking the distributor.

I am having trouble when testing bq24070. This device is smaller than I thought. It's hard to solder its pins with wires for using on test board. Even with PCB, I don't know I can solder it to board by hand or not :-s.

I am here playing a bit with the my modem just opened from the box on my boring time, the modem is SIM508Z not SIM548 as i ordered (from china). I'll share if i can do something with it.

About soldering, hot air soldering gun is the tool, you can find a lot of info and video about smd hand soldering technique on the internet. I did hand soldering 4x4mm QFN package.

I've tried both SIM508Z and SIM548. SIM508Z is old product and its stability is not so good.

Thank you! I'll try solder by that way, it's really too small :-s
