Hello. I want a help with OrCAD. I try to simylate the circuit with crystal i picture. The problem is that give error in simulation with crystal. Also i want to use cstal with frequency 2MHz and i didn't found. If use crystal from wrong library. If anyone can help me. Thanks!

if it is osci ,then no need of xtal there , just try to get wave ?? first ,then try to stabilize using xtal ,hope you need more time to get it work .

Is that crystal part in OrCAD even have a SPICE model connected to it?

With a crystal you can break it into its equivalent components parts: capacitance, resistance and inductance. You create a tank circuit this way and then try to make it oscillate at its fundamental frequency in SPICE. (Good luck)

Crystals are very simple physically but very complicated to understand and model. Remember they are electro-MECHANICAL devices with very peculiar properties.

I make an equal crystal circuit who is in picture but doesent't work correct. I didn't have Vout ~ 25Vp-p and i didn't have fr 2MHz. Thanks but everybody for answers. Regards Diamadiss. Smiley

Once you have a model that might work, then you have to persuade it to start oscillating. There are various ways to make the circuit start.

You are swimming into very deep SPICE waters.

I know that circuits with crystal is very complicated, but i want to make that circuit work. If anyone can do it i would appreciate that. Thanks for the intrest. Smiley

Kinda tight with the 'Thank You' button aren'tcha, diamadiss? Twenty five posts and every one except one is an 'I want' post.
