Still alive...

I want to build a streaming player out of my embedded linux board (FOX board).
It has an ETRAX 100LX CPU and a 10/100Mbit ethernet port.

I need help with coding and how to get mp3 streams from the internet (protocols ?)
and convert them to mp3 data which can be used by the decoder.
Please help me a little bit, it will al be OpenSource Wink

The concept:
The (MP3)streaming data comes from a web radio through the ethernet port.
Then the CPU sends the data to a external MP3 decoder (VS1011 - www.vlsi.fi),
and the decoder converts the streamed data into an audio signal.
Also the CPU controls the decoders special functions like volume, bass, trebble and
the user interface.
