hi all
open the camera in your mobile phone and point to the ir remote push any key in the remote
the ir led in the remote is seen as an normal led

Go to a music gig and they blast you with IR to stop you taking pics.
but back to topic this will only tell you that you have IR from remote, not that its working as it should.
