Mhh at this time, considering that is some months that there are not any update, also the crownhill forum have a really low number of users. It seems that this product is nearly to die... Then I think that there are nothing to learn to how protect more the product.

As typical this software has a moment of very hight pupolarity only when it is hackable, now that is good protected is nearly to die.

The balance of a good protection vs pupolarity is really looser. If you add that the original cost enought and the target of user is tipically student the choice of crownhill is worst.

I think that if crownhill decrease (at least half) the prices can reenter in the market, otherwise, proton DIE.

I think you make some good points although I don't agree with all of them. I think the success/failure of any product ultimately is not recognising the dynamics of market forces and adapting a product accordingly. If Proton dies, as it well may, it will be partly because of the growing market for AVR development and low cost tools both on Basic and C to meet market requirements. To some extent a Basic compiler, however good, and Proton is very very good, is always at risk from becoming suffocated by the need for C development tools. AVR and some of the newer low cost C compilers are creating a dynamic that WILL impact Crownhill.
The problem with many organisations, and Crownhill is no exception, is that they rarely understand Marketing as a science. Too often there are engineers and developers with wonderful ideas and products but understand nothing about marketing. They believe they do -and that makes things worse.
One of the biggest fallacies these people fail to grasp clearly, is their abject belief that warez products are directly equivalent to lost revenue. They spend a fortune protecting the product in the belief that without protection their business will be doomed. In reality, the people using the product illegally would never have purchased it or are too poor to purchase it, but of course may do so later when they are not poor. Students may often purchase illegal products once they have moved out into industry and can afford to do so. In fact they have an incentive to do so because they already have made 'some user investment' and spent time learning the product. At any rate, the amount of lost revenue is minimal compared with the 'advertising' that "free" use creates. Unfortunately the developers blind themselves with indignation, ...'no one is going to use my product if they haven't paid for it'. With few exceptions they are unable to stand back and take a business oriented pragmatic stance.  If a student is using their product for a few months - or anyone come to that, they have NOT lost revenue. In reality personal pride outweighs pragmatism.

Crownhill still adheres to the old market methods that amount to nothing other than milking the cash cow. Load a high 'sticker' on the top product and protect it like crazy, then offer lower versions of the products that become increasing limited in features at lower prices. Then put the blinkers on and ignore market dynamics. It's a policy that will always make quick bucks in the short-term, but in the long-term will ultimately lead to disaster. The organisation that really suffers is the existing customer base who believed they were buying into a business that was going somewhere.

Currently, all Crownhill are doing with Proton is perfecting it into the ground, which ethically is very admirable, but ultimately will NOT create any extra revenue. Diversification is the name of the game, along with fixing prices to create market share and compete and win as the market grows. Protecting software with dongles does absolutely nothing for creating market share; in effect it negates market share as well as attracting the attention of every wannabee intellectual cracker unable to resist a challenge.

Anyway from 1 weeks ago, i have cracked the beta version 2.2, and the new IDE 1.0.4.6, no more "SECURITY KEY NOT FOUND", the library manager can know work with the beta version, and finally and the most important one:

You can rename your basic file what ever you want including spaces

I will upload the entire package after a few days, i cant know because i am a teacher and i need to prepare to the last exams in my institute. So please be patient and support me.

Beta vesrion 2.2 hey good luck that is so out dated now you may have the IDE but it's the compiler that is the key to the latest vesrion   

And if I remember rightly i only said it once and after all it's a free country and if your a teacher you not a very good one then  I'm all for using cracked software but if I like it then I buy it after all cracked vesrions don't give you any support and that's what you pay for

I was just saying it's gone dead and if it was fully cracked it would have been up loaded by now so where is The F**king acid in that. All crackers work hard and do a great job for all of us and my view (which i repeat again) if you like it then buy it has you get full product support.

Sorry for that late, i was trying uploading the whole package but my internet connection is too slow, so i uploaded only the cracked files. you must install the dongle protected version and then replace the required files from the archive.
