Are you sure this is PCWHD version at all? It sure looks like it's a PCW...

After the installation check HELP -> ABOUT and you will see what compiler versions are installed. For me - all changed from 4.074 to 4.084. For sure it is a full update! |

This version is PCWHD, I installed over a previous version (4.074, and in "about dialog box" appears PCD compiler.  |

Hm, now that's strange. It really does say PCWHD in the About box. However top status bar still shows only PCW. However it does compile dsPic projects so I guess it really is PCWHD.  |

just look at the Devices folder of the installation.
Are there files for dspics?
Are you try to compile a simple program with any type of the supported dspics?
Both answers are yes, so don't discuss anymore for this last version PCWHD.

On 4.084 ICDS doesn't work - can't connect to ICD (tested with Microchip ICD1, 20MHz/40MHZ modified) - it was OK with 4.078
Any idea? Does someone have also such problem?

I agree, in the mplab simulator for dspics is working ok, I have problems when I try the simulation in proteus.
So, it's a little bit confussing if the compiler supports, like the previous 4.068 version, the dspics.
I waiting any comments that clear this topic.

I just intalled this version over my 4.074 which was fixed by the keygen from 4.068. it worked fine for me. PCWHD were all updated.

Hi,
on this new version 4.084, the ICD stand alone soft. is not working with my icd clone (serial with the ftdi converter). I get something 'wrong response from the ICD unit..'
But is stil working without problem on PCW environment!
So there are some changes on the ICD software.
I'm also interested to know the reason.
