well i dunno how pasanlaksiri does it. But one way is that u print silk screen/component layout on self adhesive label and voila.
or other way is use hot iron technique (read toner transfer) also works but not so neat and clean but it's safe for the circuit. Moist (air) -> paper label or plastique is not nice combination with electronics.

it have been almost 10 yrs. when i first time try it.

Nope no thinners. There is special inks for screen printing.

And im using this UV sensitive chemical to make screens ( Autotype PLUS 1 SR )

So let me see if I get this right...

Your using the technique in the video to create the screen itself of your PCB and Silk
The question I think most of us have is what kind of ink are you using to do the resist on the copper side?
What technique are you using to do actual etching?

My questions to you would be

1) Are you silk screening both sides and then etching?
2) Once your done with a screen can you remove the burnt emulsion and make a new screen on it?
3) For someone new who wanted to do screening what kind of cost are you looking at for the screen, emulsion, tools (Squeegee and Emulsion spreader) and ink? (Am I missing any supplies?

I'm impressed with the quality of your copper etching.  Looks top notch to me.

I've never been able to produce quality like that at home.  What kind of trace widths do you think you can get and what kind of spacing between pads?

i did the screen printing earlier with cheaper PVC glossy ink (Rs. 45 per 200 gms) without thinner. this scheme also worked fine if you have all fixtures like table etc.


After seeing your post i enquired about special ink available for pcb works, cost are as follows and also i am mentioning cost for all other tems required for geting started in screen printing ( Cost in Indian Currency)

1. PCB ink for making tracks etc - Rs. 375 / Kg
2. Thinner for above ink (Thiner is always required) - Rs 260 / litre
3. Silk creen print ink - Rs. 610 / Kg
4. Thinner for above is same as a mentioned in sr 2
5. 12 inch x 14 inch screen cost - Rs. 150 (Screen can be reused)
6. Screen coating sollutin - Rs. 90 / litre
7. Film - Rs. 45 / meter (210 mm wide)
8. Decoating sollution - Rs. 5 (powder to be mixed with 1 litre water)
9. Squeezee - Approx Rs 20 per ince length
10. PVC glossy ink only - Rs. 45 per 200 gms
11. 500 Watts halgen bulb - Rs. 20
12. Frame holder for hlding halogen lamp - Rs. 70
13. glass and table - Approx Rs. 200
14. Good quality water sprinkler (ne we can see in hair cutting shop) - Rs. 45

Dont use PVC inks. It will dry quickly but its paint layer is very thin, easily it can be peel off.

Yes u r right. I am from India and in that from Mumbai
Inks are as follows

1.  Ink used for tracking and etching (PCB inks )
    Code - CS1882 / CS1881
    Type - "Alkali solluble Acid resist" Blue color (Any color can do)
    Reudcing agent code :- CS2207

2.  Ink used for silk screen (SilkScreen ink)
    Code - CS1861
    Type - "Alkali solluble Acid resist"  (Any color can do)
    Reducing agent code :- 1860

3.  Ink used for Masking or Solder mask layer
    Code - CS1476
    Type - "Alkali solluble Acid resist" Blue colr
    Reducing agent code :- CS2207

For all ink Make is "COATS LTD."

Tinning process is some wat complicated and needs proper investment and is not possible to manufacture it at home. My suggestion is to purchase it directly.

Double sided PCBs using screen printing is highly imposible and not recommended.

Just today i did my screen printing of pcbs and i got 100% OK result with PVC glossy black ink
so before purchasin abve mentioned costly ink, do practice with pvc ink.

Is it worth to make silkscreen for prototype or customize pcb ?  I mean is it worth of time to make a PCB using silkscreen method instead of toner transfer or UV exposure or you use it (silksreen) for mass production at home.

How many time you use the silkscreen (with diffrent PCB artwork) before it cannot use anymore. How long it's take to produce one PCB ... start from making silkscreen upto the PCB is ready for drilling and soldering ?

Screen print is a part of making pcbs and not the whole method. hence you can't directly compare screen print with other method of transferring artwork on copper clad.

Normally to prepre a screen exposing and dring takes arround 2 hour.

but here a normal print on tracing paper will do the work you don't need positive like what is need for photoresist pcbs.

You can imagine if i need 100 pcbs then i must have 100 pcb prints for toner transfer method (assuming no fault while transferring)

In screen printing you just need to change copperclad to satisfy qty needs and hence not only for Mass production but also for prototype you can use it.

because if you order it outside then because of minimum order quantity you won't get it at cheaper rate.

Consumable parts for screen printing are much more cheaper than any other methode.

i have used it 6-7 times.

-> Best answer to this would be "depends on when you start and when you finish" mathematically
 Time to complete pcb = Finish time - Start time

Screen printing is not worth if you are need just one or two PCBs. U better stick with photoresist pcbs.
