The new rapidshare is a really pain!
Yesterday I download some magasines, from links posted on sonsivri.com.The result was catastrophic-for two good archives were two bads!
The tricky is made so-they limit download speed, free user, to 50-60 k and after a certain time they interrupt the stream. This is valable for big packs, over 50 Mb.
So I can recomend for all sonsivri users to migrate to other free file hostings!
A good choice is uploadjockey.com,filefactory and so on.

By the way, if you are using free download for all servers the bandwidth is low than premium one

uploadjockey.com --> I've never heard of
filefactory --> Have you ever met the message from filefactory that there's is no free slot currently?

Anyway, my speed is about 50 KB/s. So even with a pre acc, I can't download faster than that.

it is true - rapidshare  diminished DL  speed but waiting time for another DL is quite acceptable-from 24 sec to 45 sec - in the past we had to wait much longer, sometimes till another day ?!

my favourites are
1. MIHD - no limits,no waiting,plenty links...
2.rapidshare
3.depositfile

have a nice day

I agree here guys. Maybe you are suffering too much strugglig with those free & slow file hosting services. Nothing is free in life and if you really what speed when it comes to downloading you must pay (not much in my opinion) for it. I mean if you have ever bought something from the interent from places like eBay then you must have a PayPal account. Just use that account to drop 7 euros to Rapidshare and you will not (for 7 euros gives you 30 days of use) have to wait in order to download anything. I once managed to donload 12 DVDs at 10 MB/s (using a download accelerator). Each DVD had about 45 rapidshare links and only took about 5-8 minutes to download each DVD. Those DVD where really valuable for me so I think that paying 7 euros is nothing compared to what you get in return...
Moreover, something that many of you mithg not know. I you hold a Rapidshare account you can upload files bigger that 100MB. You can even upload a 700MB movie if you like. However I suspect only premium rapidshare users can download such big files...

I certainly second the thoughts expressed by mbandala here. 7 Euros is not a big price for the amount of unlimited download you can get consistently on rapidshare. I have also noted that they answer any queries quite promptly.

I´m using Jdownloder http://jdownloader.org/home.

From the developer:

JDownloader is open source, platform independent and written completely in Java. It simplifies downloading files from One-Click-Hosters like Rapidshare.com or Megaupload.com - not only for users with a premium account but also for users who don't pay. It offers downloading in multiple paralell streams, captcha recognition, automatical file extraction and much more. Of course, JDownloader is absolutely free of charge. Additionally, many "link encryption" sites are supported - so you just paste the "encrypted" links and JD does the rest. JDownloader can import CCF, RSDF and the new DLC files.

Just copy the links, paste to JDownloader and go to bed  Smiley

On this time,Rapidshare is maybe worst solution for downloaders.ashrafhafezg  said :Recently.. rapidshare has no time delay between dl..try it   - why need time delay when is downloading with delay? Before (like free user) I download for example 30Mb=2 min;Now for same file I need 10 min. This new system is only good for static ip (more downl. in 24 h)-for my dinamic ip-when is time deley between  downl. 25 sec(in/out/in internet connection)-is much worst...
If U look at my post(my uploads) I avoid Rapid how much is poss.-that is only solutions fair enough for all members of Sonsivri forum! Grin

Rapidshare now has 2 minute waiting, then up to 90 secound wait.
and you maybe sent back to start again, so your download may take up to ten minutes to start.
they want you to open an account and become a Premium member.

I don't think that's terribly bad. Just think of the great amount of data you can upload/download for a few bucks. It's just my opinion.

I have a RS premium. But sometimes the bandwith is also poor. The only good thing are the "no limits" for download. For personal use I prefer mydrive.

I have RS premium for one year. I shared it with 3 close friends. Last week I downloaded about 82GB MP3 music and never had trouble. I think it is a good investment if you use well. Unfortunately a few is free in life if you expect good service. I can say RS is OK.
