Why the base and the emitter of BC548 is sort; Is wrong.

Most audio amps. are %90 similar. No very different. You can add transistors to increase the power...

Does anyone have a PC Board layout of this? If not I will make one and share...

Is it possible to may be make a scan, printout or even photos (to scale not that important) of your layout and I will make a new layout in Eagle based on your layout. This way we make sure that I make a new working duplicate because we know your layout works well. Amps are temperamental at best of times, feedback, crosstalk and hum can be a problem if you are not aware of keeping inputs and outputs as far as possible away from one another on the layout and you have your earthing done 100% as well.

Much simpler to use MOSFETS in the output - see original UK Maplin 100 watt amplifer. Power can be increased with MOSFETs in parallel.

Hi everybody, I am new here and I really don't want to be rude but first off I am very much into audio electronics and hanging on a very big audio forum with the worlds most known guys in Audio who have designed amplifiers that cost almost as much as a car like Mark Levinson, Krell, Ayre etc etc... and very well renowned guys who have many publications at http://www.aes.org/ and circuit designers from one of the biggest American semiconductor manufacturer, and during the years I have seen many amplifier designs and many different kind of transistors used in such designs. Some of the transistor to begin with for Audio design are outdated since long time ago for amplifier use, the output transistor in a TO-3 like package is very old and these transistors can be find in amplifiers at least dating back to the 60's, almost 50 years old stuff. I wouldn't recommend anyone build this amplifier because of the outdated transistor except maybe BC548... the problem is if someone want to replace for more modern transistors lies in that we have to take into account they are much faster and can cause instability in an amplifier that is not compensated and designed around modern transistors. The complementary transistor pair for for BC327 is not BC237 but BC337, the max current for BC327/BC337 is 500 mA while for the BC237 is 100 mA so the choices of transistors are a bit arbitrary when they are supposed to do the same symmetrical work. Otherwise the design looks OK but is not advisable as a new amplifier project in this shape, sorry! Cheers

i don't know what is the problem if it is faster I may imagine the problem when the transistor is slower!!!
