Sound card problem

I have PC with windows xp sp3 with built in sound card PC IS P4 BUT WHEN i installed latest sound driver nothing happened My PC is ATI READEON 200 i am using NVIDA GEFORCE 9500GT VIDEO CARD .Also my sound card is not visible in BIOS .So what is possible cause if i purchase external sound card how to disable internal card .My sound card was working some time ago but stop working now.

Go into the System Bios at start up and make sure the sound card is turned on if using the built in card or off if installing a seperate sound

in bios no sound card is visible but card is built in

Open your windows system folder. Klick on the sound symbol and check all settings. The sound might be deactivated.
The other possiblity is and dont get me wrong:
Did you put your cable on the connector out ?

The connectors are "in"    "out"  and  "mic"

Your PC is not a ATI Radeon 200. ATI Radeon 200 is a graphic chipset. There might be a ATI sticker on the outside of the PC. So you probably have a mainboard with ATI graphic onboard - which should be deactivated if you are working with an extra Nvidia card. Is your sound onboard or is there a sound card sticking in one of the slots? What sound driver did you install?

Mother board is made by ATI sound card is real talk sound card is not external but built in i am working on nvida graphic card is it possible nvida deactivated sound card how to open system folder and clik on sound system.There is no sound icon task bar. do u man device manager

OK - first of all we have to find out what hardware you are using.
Here is a nice systeminfo program, which does not install in your system, all you have to do is doubleklick it.

look at hardware - motherboard - take a screenshot

look at hardware - devices - audio video gamecontroller - here should be one or two devices - take screenshots  and post them.

Right click on my computer, select properties, go to hardware -> device manager, find the sound card device in the list, then uninstall it or roll it back.
