Hi,

Get some ferrite rings (the kind that snap around - or wire can be looped through) and that will solve your probs. About 2 or three loops through the ring near BOTH ends of the RS232 cable...

If the ferrite rings doesn't work, another idea would be to use rs-232 to rs-422 converters.
Each signal is sent through 2 twisted wires differential and (in theory) one's noise would be cancelled by the other one's opposite noise.

hi. chek the type of cable or wire that you are using to drive your sound signal. to fight agains interferances and electrical noisis, you need to use  ground shielded ones. another way to prevent noisis in audio frequencis driving lines is to put them away from hight frequencis lines like serial cables, switched mode power supplies lines, video lines, etc.
                                                                                hop that will help you.
