But MPLAB-ICD2 can it's too from MPLAB-ICD + PICC(CCS). Can't compare with CCS ICD but good luck in you debug-bisnes!

CCS compiler is pretty good but i can't say same thing for their debugger. i use their ICD-U40 and it locks so often preventing me from debugging.

In my opinion

CCS appear to user friendly with lot of built in functions,
but creates a lot of problems in some codes. some versions are reported to be very troublesome.

But many happy users for it.

I like and use Hi Tech.

I always use Visual Studio as IDE for any compiler. It's the best IDE.

Hi tavioman.

Do you also compile/build from Visual Studio? Or you just used for editing your code?

Yes, just use the Makefile Project project at New Project wizzard.
After that in project properties(NMAKE) use the command line:
picc.exe +STDOUT +FH +EW +DF +LN +T +A +ES +M -Z +Y=0 +EA main_file.c
Or use your own options...

2 ways--

Either install MPLAB, THEN CCS (which will auto setup links) OR install CCS-MPLAB plugin, which will then setup linkages
