It's not exactly a new language (2002)... It appear like Pascal  Cry .

There is a lot of developper working wiith jal. There is a lot of library. Jal version 2 released.

JAL is a high level language. So, it is not useful for professional embedded project. But, JAl may be encyable for newbei PIC developer. In my opinion, C based languages are very powerfull and fonctional for professional developers.

JAL stands for just another language and is a pascal style language for programming PICs. Its free and the source code for the compiler is open source. When I started out with PICs this was the language I used for a while before switching to assembler then onto C. Its a good language for beginners and there is alot of code examples out there.

Jal is very easy to learn for beginner but for complex project I return to use C language.
