Look at ICD2 clone in http://www.micro4you.com, it is only RS232 but it works fine for programming and debugging and it's less than US$40.

Be sure to check forums first to see if the chip you want to use is supported.
I've known many peaple trying to go the cheap way by building or buying a clone but in the end it just didnt work...

Hi,
Why not try to get the original ICD2, they are on offer on microchip site.
Best wishes.

It is a complete clone so it should be support dsPIC30 too, because original ICD2 also support it.
Where did you find "usbicd2.par" ? Is it not an rar archive?

usbicd2.par is the bill of material. You can open it with a text editor. usbicd2.brd is an eagle pcb layout.
