I can't keep this pace, current release as of today is 4.052! I can't imagine what is going in CCS's people's minds, they fix some bugs and create new ones?? really this is a crap compiler

People ALWAYS request the newest version as it comes out. Go check http://www.ccsinfo.com/devices.php?page=versioninfoSee if you REALLY need the update. All the updates have been bug fixes, not new features, so most likely you DONT need the update unless it affects something your using already and see a problem with. IE. the .51 just posted, has an ADC bug. So now will you be demanding that someone post .52 ?

Hey, PUMA why don't you use HiTech C? It's a much better compiler. Recently I have made a really big project with CCS and I was really dissapointed. Many many bugs in CCS. Even for some simple stuff. Myself I will switch to hitech or IAR. It does not matter if they are expensive anyway. You don't pay nothing for them as log as sonsivri will exist. So, do something smart and start using HiTech. It's a better choice.

I tried to use CCS and really has many BUGS. I think MIKROC or HITECH is better.

I prefer CCS... for me it is better, but each one chooses what wants to use. I never had problems with this.

ccs is a buggy software, its lib source code isnot open. iar hitech, even mcc18 are better than ccs. its extensive C keywords confuses me, code isn‘t portable.

@PUMA I never work with Mplab. I'm using Visual Studio as an editor. It's much more easy. VS2005 it's a very powerful editor. I'm using VS2005 for CCS and for HiTech. I don't like MPLAB.

OK tavioman, we have understood that HiTech C is your preferred compiler and I cannot blame you for this as its really a better product compared to CCS. HOWEVER, are you aware that latest HT_PICC960_Crack won't work with latest PICC demo 9.60 ?? The latest picc (demo) version is here for others to use (or crack it hopefully). http://rapidshare.com/files/52656220/picc-demo_960.zip.html

one more advantage of ccs picc is abilty of produce coff file. this case you can simulate your project with proteus isis. you also can do this with hi-tech but cant with micro c.am i true?

@ROBI Why do you need the latest version? We should make a new section(s) here for each PIC compiler. We could colaborate and make functions(or macros) for HiTech that look's just like CCS ones. eg: spi_write, spi_read, eeprom_write, etc... It's not that hard. If you look at the MPLAB C18 files you will see functions for this things that are 100% ANSI. HiTech it's also 100% ANSI. If people have trobles with the different data types they could use something like this: #ifdef CCS_COMPILER #ifdef CCS_COMPILER typedef int8 UNSIGNED8 typedef signed int8 SIGNED8 typedef int16 UNSIGNED16 typedef signed int16 SIGNED16 #elif defined HI_TECH_COMPILER typedef unsigned char UNSIGNED8 typedef signed char SIGNED8 . . . #elif defined MPLAB_C18_COMPILER . . . #endif And simply define the compiler at the beggining of the code. After that use the new typedefs: UNSIGNED8 foo = 234;

Why do you need the latest version?
Which latest version ? CCS ? I don't want latest CCS. Just asked if someone has a new crack for Hitech picc 9.60 because old one does not work anymore. I knew that C18 and Hitech are both full ANSII. I did not ask that.

Hie, Is it possible to do any simulation with VS2005 like Mplab does? Like proteus integration as a simulation tool?

It's not possible to do this direct but you could make a command line for launching either Proteus or MPLAB and simply hit debug button on VS. But I never do this. I simply load the hex or cof file into Proteus.
