IR Remote Receiver

Hello,

I'm looking for a project that uses either the Microchip PIC chips, or the Basic Stamp ( BasicX ) chips.

I would like to use a standard TV remote, to operate relays.
I'm guessing the receiver would need some type of "Learn" mode.
That way you could press a button on the remote for example,
and it would learn that button should activate relay one.

I am currently using a LCD monitor as a TV, I would like to use my tivo remote to operate the buttons
on the monitor ( power and such ). I figure I can attach relays to the monitor buttons.

If I need to build a new transmitter, I am willing.. but as everyone knows, the less remotes needed the better.
I only need 2 outputs, but if the project could handle 4 or more that would be a bonus.

I found this finally...
I think I can get it to work.  since I'm using a Tivo remote, I can program it to emit codes
for any brand tv.  This project is designed for Sony.
I think I may be able to add more relays to it as well.
I hope this helps anyone else.

Hi!
You just have to interface the IR Receiver and you can use Sony Remote Control for this and also Proton has the built-in function For Sony TV and if you want to learn permanently the button code that has been transmitted by transmitter even when the power has lost or PIC has been restarted then you can store data permanently in the EEPROM of the PIC so in this way microcontroller can learn the button code always.
