Anyone here knows how to communicate GSM modem using FPGA?

First you will need a serial port i believe ,and a micro ip core to probabily send at code to modem,i can´t see other way to do that task,free ipcores :

Better using low cost fpga board eg.

Yes, GSM Modules use serial port communication. you have ipcores of FPGA connect between FPGA and GSM Module. After you write program give FPGA send AT command send to GSM Module.

Yes, i already done controlling GSM devices using PICMicro but for the thesis purposes i will use FPGA.

Please post information about PIC and GSM modem. I would like to connect two PIC boards
with GSM modems to transfer some files (~400K).
