How make sychronization of ICL8038?

I like to lock  the IC with the electric grid frequency.

Hi

That's not so easy with ICL 8038 !
look at fig 9 in Intersil datasheet
http://www.intersil.com/data/fn/fn2864.pdf
CD4046 could serve as phase detector.

Maxim improved the 'old' 8038 : the MAX038 chip has a SYNC ouput pin !
Look at fig 4/page 14 in Max038 datasheet.
