okay , when we installed the driver , then which software should we use to monitor received data and to send data out of pc ? omid ;) Title: Re: [request] : ft232 project Post by: Marineland on December 22, 2007, 05:06:15 17:06 okay , when we installed the driver , then which software should we use to monitor received data and to send data out of pc ? Hi omidsht, From Host side (PC), there is two types of driver:
The VCP driver emulates a standard PC serial port such that the USB device may be communicated with as a standard RS232 device. The D2XX driver allows direct access to a USB device via a DLL interface. When you'll plug the FT232R breakout, the windows asks you to install a driver (one of both). If it is your first experiment with the components ftdi, I advise you initially mode VCP... ;) Regards, Marineland Title: Re: [request] : ft232 project Post by: stemli on December 22, 2007, 09:45:12 21:45 hi
diy usb pic programmer has ft232bm chip. ft232 chip is usb to comport converter. so you can use it with serial pic programmer for usb pic programmer. good days Title: Re: [request] : ft232 project Post by: siwat2 on December 25, 2007, 03:27:40 15:27 Can I use any FT product to be USB host?
Title: Re: [request] : ft232 project Post by: drnewton on December 27, 2007, 01:14:10 01:14 The FT series cannot be USB hosts, but FTDI makes another chip, the Vinculum that will act as host. See: www.vinculum.com
