Post by: tris400 on June 10, 2011, 03:58:20 15:58
I need 1W LED driver circuit for 3v battery supply, should be boost converter i think.(because LED is 3.4v and 350 mA current draw ).can anybody help me.thanx

Try this LT1073. The LT1073 can converts from single cell 1.5V (or two cells 3V) to 5 Volts.

Sorry Tom - that's not going to work.  He needs to convert a single cell (good luck with that one) or two cells to 350mA constant current. A DC-DC won't do it in most cases.

A number of companies make HBLED drivers these days.  IR. TI, National among others.

Try this one:  http://www.nxp.com/documents/data_sheet/SSL3250A.pdf

As I said, everybody and his dog have a HB LED current driver now.

FWIW, you're going to need a really high mAh battery (ies). The LEDs run at 3V, so if you run it off a 1.5V cell, assuming an unrealistic efficiency of 100%, you'll be pulling 700mA.  Run it at 80%, and now you're pulling 875mA PLUS the driver chip current, whatever that is.
