Ever noticed that youtube buffering on firefox is just bad? Although internet connection is excellent, you have to keep waiting for the video to buffer, watch, then stop, then buffer, and so on, any OnE?

I use Opera as a standby browser when FF irritates me beyond my threshold of pain.

I miss V2.0 of FF - since then it has become bloatware, and leaks memory like a sieve. And 50% CPU use on a 2+ GHz machine is just plain ridiculous

All new features they added to it are useless. google chrome is even faster, lighter and much better, but the bookmarks sucks!

I think there is a problem in the streaming protocol they are using in FF.

Chrome collects lots of usage info for their advertisement purpose. Two months ago, started crashing daily if open many tabs. Can't trust an AD company with browser. Going back to FF.

For the small amount of youtube I view, mostly music, I use internt download manager, and watch off-line

some people say it is a problem with flash settings!? I don't see any streaming-related settings!!!

I have the same problem!
It seems, that thise problem is only for latest version of FF.
Is it right?

For me Firefox has always leaked memory like a sieve, even the earlier versions...  It's still my primary browser but I honestly can't believe that they can't get the memory leaks under control...  Even though my computers stay up 24/7 I have to regularly shut down and restart Firefox at least once a day or else it will drag the entire system down...

As for streaming videos, yeah there is something wonky with Firefox and it's not just Youtube I find the problem on many other sites as well...  So now I always have a Chrome window open and God forbid even sometimes have an IE window open when it aggravates me...  I might have to look at Opera again, I used to use Opera way back in the day when Netscape started to crash and burn way back around the post Netscape 3.0 days...

Edit also consider switching Firefox to the 'Beta' update channel vs the stable 'Release' channel...  Personally I find their beta releases to be superior to the stable ones overall...  Go figure...

They thought that creating a plugin container made things much better!

I wonder why firefox doesn't buffer the video.. I tried speedbit video accelerator and no longer needing to open other browsers. But, I noticed that this software suddenly stops buffering, a new problem arise, seriously go figure :)

I will try the beta releases, why not!? Sunken fears not waters.

The concept and idea of running the plugins in a 'sandbox' aka container outside the main executable so that they don't take down the browser when they crash or hang is a solid idea, they just screwed up the implementation horribly...

I have not bothered to dig into why Firefox can't play streaming videos worth a damn anymore but it's sure annoying as hell..  I tried to watch a few videos (short news clips) today on my laptop, what a frustrating experience until I swapped over to Chrome...

They started to act like CCS Compiler, using users to report bugs ;D
