Title: Printer Data Capture

Hi All!
        I work with very old HP unix system (LED Tester). Every time i need the data, I must print ting to dot matrix printer.
I want to make the hardware to capture the data from the printer port.

Does anybody can help? Sorry my english language is not good

I suggest you to search for a parallel to serial converter. You may find it some computer store or built one with a microcontroller.

With this converter, you can see the text in any PC with some RS-232 terminal software(like windows hyperterminal).

Which processor? VME or VXI base?

Our system use HPIB  and microprint 45ch to convert signal from HPIB to Centronics (Parallel Interface).
Is this difference from narmal parallel port?
