Title: are torrent links permitted?
Post by: zelea2 on April 29, 2021, 02:04:38 02:04
I've just read the rules and link examples only cover http and ftp.
Are torrents a valid way to exchange releases?
If so what is preferred a magnet link or the torrent file (which usually is 1K in size)?

In my experience I've found it quite difficult to retrieve programs which have been published years ago.
On sites like rapidshare or nitroflare links expire quickly (for various reasons).
Torrents on the other hand tend to last longer.

You can post torrent a torrent file. That is often done in the Alrium designer section. I think it would be best to post the torrent and not the link. As many countries and also some ISP have a blocking regime for torrents sites. Here is an example of a torrent I posted some time ago

For smaller tings like ebooks in PDF format, that you share. it is often better to open a free cyberlocker account
