Lol

Quote
Due to illegal copies being constantly
pushed out by a certain group of individuals, it has been decided that it no longer makes economic sense to support this product and it is being with drawn from sale

Looks like you pissed him off so much he's quit

Shame I read there was going to be a USB version

Pickit2

What's your attitude to them closing up shop due to your posts. Good or bad?

Have you ever produced a product worth selling?

I know that is not the proper place, but pickit2, my 2 other "Thank you" post is from Feb 2007, before the "Thank you" button....
And probably you r not happy even after I delete my "Thanks" mistake and you still have something to tell me. And you also, post in wrong place, about your counting
my "wrong" posts.

By the way, because you read everything here, do you know if this is the last alone version of ICD?

Thanks anyway.

The way I read it he just sold out to Crownhill and is playing it up for dramatic effect, no?

I decided to mail him to find out what is the truth

This is what he said and its up to you if you believe him (modified from the original text)

"When it was written there was no ICD functionality so to help the compiler writer and the users I commissioned the PC side of P-ICD to be written. I wrote the Pic side. It cost me many £1000's and to date I have not made any profit."

"I had worked on a USB interface to remove the need for RS232 coms and got it working but gave it up in the end with all the pirating"

"I have not sold it to Crownhill its been given away free"

The general feeling I got was he was very pissed off but now has given up caring

Another really interesting thing I was told by him is

Not long ago Sonsivri and Rego were perused by the lawyers because of there pirating activity's especially because they were moderators. This was when this site was taken down.

When that happen they found a whole new set of moderators. PICKIT2 you being one of them! Tim claims to personally know who one of the others is. It can only be imagined that if  the lawyers come knocking again they wanted to make sure some one else takes the hit.

iguana, I thought the subject and tone of your earlier posts in this thread sounded fishy. With your last post I'm sure you are up to no good.

You directly contacted a software author who says he has lost thousands of pounds because of the pirating activity of this board? Now you're trying to frighten the mods that Sonsivri and Rego are intending to set them up as the next 'fall guys.'

Whoever you really are and whatever your motives, YOU ARE A DEFINITELY A TROUBLEMAKER AND LIKELY REPRESENT THE INTERESTS OF ONE OR MORE SOFTWARE PUBLISHERS.

Hope to see you banned soon.

Actually I never said he lost £1000's I just said he has yet to make any money from it.

I doubt anybody here would ever pay for software so while it would no doubt be annoying I would not think he lost many sales through it.

I'm sure if you were a moderator I would be banned, but until then or some one else bans me I will just sink back into my hole and watch the world go bye......  :-X :-X

You sure your in the right sort of forum? as to a ban you would no doubt just come back with a new nic.
You do know Tim is a user in here? last visited us on September 23, 2008 just to have his abandoned files deleted.
Also I hope you used a new free email addy to ask him about pi-rate software.

Did I tell you I found here throgh Tims rant's in pds forum.
they have 3 registed users and 45 guests and he places an advert for here, in thier forum.
