Title: Playback adopter for DVD-ROM Drive

Nov-2007 · Silicon Chip magazine  contain a project named "Playback Adaptor For CD-ROM Drives"
In now days, finding such drive is very hard.
but dvd-Rom drive is available without any restriction.
Is there any project to make such a player now?

you can find that the author tested the circuit on CD-ROM and DVD-ROM drives too.

The author clearly status as follows " although others conform to different standards, like SCSI and SATA . These have a different connector and are not compatible with this project."
 SATA drives only available now.other types like ATAPI is not available in market
