Title: Tester for electronic devices
Post by: sfiga69 on April 08, 2015, 08:05:35 20:05
Has anyone tried / tested this tester for electronic components?
it can be useful?
costs $ 25 on ebay

Features:

Measuring bipolar transistor current amplification factor and base-emitter threshold voltage.
Automatic test the pin of a component, and display on the 128 * 64 LCD backlight.
Measure the gate and gate capacitance of the MOSFET threshold voltage.
One -button operation, automatic shutdown, only 20nA shutdown current.
Reverse breakdown voltage is less than 4.5V, Zener diode can be identified.
2uF more capacitors can simultaneously measure the equivalent series resistance ESR values.
Via the base - emitter threshold voltage and high current amplification factor to identify Darlington transistors.
Can simultaneously measure two resistors and resistor symbol is displayed. Displayed on the right with a decimal value of 4.
Can detect the transistor, MOSFET protection diode amplification coefficient and the base to determine the emitter transistor forward biased voltage.
Automatic detection of NPN and PNP transistors, n-channel and p-channel MOSFET, diode (including double diode), thyristor, transistor, resistor and capacitor and other componen

That's pretty remarkable for under $20.

I can hardly wait until there is an inexpensive curve tracer available.  I imagine that could be built with a LCD touchscreen like that in a phone or tablet coupled to a programmable current source  (howland amp driven by a DAC and using the ADC such found in some of the arm variants?).

This is some kind of clone like this with "Picture" display
http://www.mikrocontroller.net/articles/AVR_Transistortester

I have one for the "Text" mode device as above. It is good for identify "unknown" device. Help to find out it is NMOS, PMOS, NPN, PNP,...
However, don't expect too much for the measurement on detail spec. They are just FYI only.

is ok for 20$.

I bought exactly that meter four months ago.
It works very well. I think it is very good for the price.

You can even leave the 9V battery always connected, because it has a special circuit to cut completely the power from the microcontroller. I measured the power consumption when is off and is less than 100 pA.

You can find them for less than $15 USD on eBay.
